Maryland Troubled Teens in CrisisIt is increasingly common to see Maryland teens in crisis who are involved in drugs and alcohol, are running away from home, are defiant towards authority, and getting involved in gangs. These teens are said to be exhibiting “out of control” behaviors. An “out of control” teen is no longer concerned about personal safety or the effects their actions have on the people around them who care. If you need help with a struggling teen, please call 888-305-6729 to speak to one of our advisers at Abundant Life Academy. One of the reasons that troubled teens in crisis get caught up in self-destructive behaviors in the first place is the negative influence of their friends. A teenager's friends often have the most influence in their lives during the teenage years because of the fact that teens have a psychological need to be accepted by a social group. This sometimes causes them to overlook their own safety and best interests in order to “go with the flow”. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to remove a troubled boy or girl from a negative environment and place them in a therapeutic boarding school where they can make a fresh start. Abundant Life Academy is a boarding school dedicated to providing that environment for troubled teens. Our staff take a personal interest in helping troubled teens overcome whatever problems they may have and teach them essential life skills so that they can handle situations back home.
