School Violence Among Our Troubled Teens

jaed_wince_smYoung boys and girls are more sensitive than teenagers when it comes to violence. Even though these younger teens have not totally developed their mental and physical abilities, they definitely are influenced by the older troubled teens. Mostly in schools it is the 10th graders through 12th graders that are involved in violence in schools. If the school atmosphere becomes violent then it will affect each and every teenage student, teacher and the administrative staff member of the school. Many students involved in violence are more emotional than others but at times all teenagers show a high degree of violence, especially when pushed. The major news outlets say that violence has spread in the campus after a single violent incident occurs. When a high rate of violence occurs on the high school campus, the atmosphere of the school becomes fearful. Teenage boys and girls are highly affected by these violent incidents.

The students that are abused and neglected in their classrooms are at a high risk to begin violent behavior. Almost three million teenagers are reported to be abused or neglected each year. Some of the youth protective services provide trained staff to supply training or policy support for protecting the schools regarding violence among teens. These services also provide nutrition information, care and treatment for those teenagers and their parents who need help. They also provide help to the parents of the abused teen by getting parent coaching and support programs that prevent teen boys and girls from being abused.

Violent Behavior Among Teens

Youth that are in high school or above start to wander away from their concern and regard for academics. Some of them are not interested in learning or succeeding. They always try to show their power to others that are less powerful or not interested in participating in violence. These students are found typically in the last seats in the classroom. They are sometimes known as back benchers. These back benchers or troubled boys lead the violent groups and always try to fight and make a disturbance in the classroom, or on the bus or in the street outside school. There are a variety of social and economic factors which are the main factors for violent and aggressive behavior by teenagers and youth at home, in school, and in the community.
