Boading Schools For Girls- ALA Cheerleading Program

cheerleading_ala_girls3The cheerleading program at ALA has a thriving cheer community. It involves leadership among the students, creative self made cheers, stunting, thorough practices Monday through Friday, and much more.

During practice we run through each cheer and correctively teach each girl how to perform it. They get outside as much as possible to do stunting and tumbling to each girls ability. The cheerleaders are working to organize fundraisers to earn money to buy equipment such as mats, outfits, shoes and braces for the girls who need them.

cheerleading_ala_girls1In ALA's cheerleading community there is no designated cheer captain for the purpose of we want all girls to feel equal. A former cheerleader says that "Having a specific captain can undermine a girl’s abilities and can leave her with hurt feelings". Our goal is to make all the girls equal and just as important as the next.

At ALA we have a very enthusiastic and talented cheerleading squad. They support all our teams, especially football and basketball. Three times per week the girls practice for an hour which provides exercise and comradery.
