There is a vast difference between a Christian who is a counselor and Christian counselors. Some counselors use the term Christian because they believe it will expand their practice. Therefore you don’t know if you have the right counselor or not. When you as a Christian realize that you or someone you love is in need of counseling there are several issues that need to be addressed. First is the stigma that seeking professional help may bring. Second is the task of finding a competent counseling professional who will truly integrate their faith into the counseling process.

Christian Counselors are here to assist people in need to find peace and contentment with God, through our beloved Jesus Christ, to help bring about an inner change that is satisfactory to God and Beneficial to man kind. They are also here to teach biblical principles to live victoriously over weaknesses, bad habits, sin and addictions. To provide comfort to them that are hurt and suffering, through Christian love, to give therapeutic counsel based on Gods word.

The Christian counselor is keenly aware that it is God who is the healer and it is the activity of the Holy Spirit that transforms the mind and heart. The work of the Christian therapist is to provide the counseled with a safe and confidential relationship in which they can expose their pain, their fear, their wounds, and their sin, be led into deeper levels of truth, and receive the grace and healing power of Christ’s love.

Abundant Life Academy is a powerful Christian boarding school, providing the practical reality that troubled teens need. Many Christian Counselors have suggested that ALA is the Alternative. ALA is a leadership training program, not an institute. At ALA we help students learn more about the outside world, as we give attention to practicing life from a Christ-centered family prospective. We provide opportunity for our students to live out Christian leadership principles.

We do not provide therapy, treatment, or mental health counseling. We do however provide academic and career counseling, as well as life mentoring.
