Abundant Life Academy is a Christian counseling centers housed in a boarding school for troubled teens.  At Abundant Life Academy we provide Christian counseling 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. At Abundant Life Academy our enjoyment is to lead troubled teens into a place of peace, triumph, and victory, which comes only through a relationship with Jesus. Essentially, traditional  Christian Counseling Centers are centralized hubs for counselors who assist struggling people (adults, young adults, adolescents, troubled teenagers, struggling youth) from a Christ-centered perspective. Christian Counseling Centers house a multitude of Christian counseling professionals, and are usually associated with a local church. The Christian Counseling Center is designed to bring together a coalition of Christ-centered counselors who share the same or similar Christian values, and/or the same doctrinal approach. Abundant Life Academy supports the concept of Christian Counseling Centers and often refers current/former student’s Christ-centered counselors. Many former Abundant Life Academy students and their families have enjoyed tremendous success (family restoration) in an aftercare program. Abundant Life Academy is a Christian boarding school designed for the troubled teens, boys and girls, in need of early intervention therapeutic and academic services.

Additionally, Abundant Life Academy utilizes a Christian counseling approach with our students, as well as our parents. Abundant Life Academy has Christian counselors on staff. Most Christ-centered counselors are trained and equipped to work with individuals (adults; men and women, young adults, college students; troubled teens - adolescents; troubled boys and troubled girls; and families; couples and children) who struggle with a variety of social and mental health issues, such as; marriage counseling, family dynamics, divorce, anger management, alcohol and drug problems, substance abuse treatment, addictions, chemical dependency, gambling, depression, bipolar, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction, sexual acting out, oppositional defiance, personality disorders, ODD, ADD/ADHD, and troubled teen disorders.

The dictionary defines counseling as “opinion or instruction given in directing the judgment or conduct of another.” Christian counselors recognize that God’s Word is reliable and authoritative in all it speaks to, mainly matters of faith, lifestyle, and morality. Christian counselors gain their sense of morality from God’s absolute Word. In practice they are committed to loving all persons whether or not they are Christians. At Abundant Life Academy a Christian boarding school for troubled boys and girls, we teach the word of God, and counsel from a Biblical standpoint. Christian counselor’s and therapist help children find the light that they have lost. Christian Life Coaches, therapists, and counselors committed to re-establish the right path for troubled teen. The significance of having a Christian counselor is knowing the counselor will approach everything from a Biblical perspective. Since there are so many different versions of therapy and counseling it's important for people to consider their faith to be a big part of their lives and feel comfortable with the counselor.

Christian Counselors, Life Coaches, and the Biblical perspective

There are many types of Christian counseling. Some pastors do counseling, but there’s a program for licensed counselors and therapists to practice under the Christian ideals. Christian counseling centers offer individual counseling (adults, young adults, troubled boys and troubled girls), marital counseling, and family counseling. There are also some Christian counselors who concentrate on specific areas, such as addictions, substance abuse, chemical dependency, drug and alcohol treatment, and mental health issues (depression, bipolar, eating disorders, anger management, etc.).

Some of the benefits of Christian counseling go beyond the usual benefits of seeking counseling. It is true that traditional counseling can provide powerful tools for development of coping skills, but Christian counseling goes beyond by offering spiritual growth. Troubled teens and their parents may also find great comfort in using Biblical principals to help them work through their issues. Sometimes Christian faith believers may have a more difficult time turning to someone who is of a different faith, they would feel more comfortable with turning to a professional who will include Christian ideals within the session.
