Abundant Life Academy is a Christ-centered leadership boarding school for troubled teens who need to develop personal restraint, personal responsibility, and personal relationships.  Abundant Life Academy is the alternative to the best all boy or all girl Catholic boarding schools. Catholic boarding schools have an emphasis toward the more strict Christian principles as it pertains to character development and academic discipline.  Top Catholic boarding schools work with teenagers who are appreciative of strict discipline and tough academic standards. Many of the teenagers enrolled in a catholic boarding school intellectually advanced and have the ability compete with other brilliant students.  All students attending Catholic boarding school are their to achieve academic success.

The staff of Abundant Life Academy are similar to that of Catholic boarding schools.  However, the ALA staff act as life coaches and do not force our students to do anything against their will.  Catholic boarding schools are known for the practice of dumping "shame and guilt" upon their students as a motivational tool.  Faculty of traditional Catholic boarding schools are not able pay individual attention to the overall development and training of the troubled boys and girls.  Unfortunately, students that have poor self esteem and also are poor in school performance suffer, fall behind, and drop out. At Abundant Life Academy we don't allow any student to fail.  As "Life Coaches" the ALA staff take personal responsibility for the success of each our our students. 

Students attending Catholic schools are almost always college bound and compete for spots at the best universities in the nation.  Catholic boarding schools offer graduation program that are designed to take a student from high school into college. Students enrolled into traditional boarding schools for girls or boys are required to study at least three hours a day in order to compete with the top students. In addition to competitive academics, hours and hours of studying, students are compelled to participate in groups, clubs, athletics, and religious study.

The struggling girls and boys that attend ALA are not the same kids that would be candidates for all girls or all boys Catholic boarding schools. Our students may be smart and capable, but they are unmotivated and could not compete against those who are typical candidates for the top boarding schools.  Abundant Life Academy serves gifted, yet unmotivated rebellious teens, who are emotionally mature and in need of academic and family restoration.  There are very few similarities between the candidates for Abundant Life Academy and candidates for the top Catholic boarding schools in the US.  Parents of troubled teens are all to often enrolling their struggling teens into Catholic schools for the purpose of discipline and restoration.  Unfortunately, these students usually crash and burn.  Again, Abundant Life Academy is the positive alternative to the best Catholic boarding schools in the country.  For more information about Abundant Life Academy call our admissions department at 888-305-6729.
