Christian Programs For Troubled Teen Boys

Christian programs for troubled boys are normally leadership programs that  provide a Christ-centered leadership program, academic restoration programs, and other therapeutic programs for troubled boys. Most Christian therapeutic programs provide a single sex environment, serving either young me or young women. Abundant Life Academy is no different, as we provide seperate programs for young men. The programs designed to serve troubled boys only work when the distractions generated by the presence of "girls" is eliminated. Single sex programs have a unique way of encouraging young men to be real, fearless, curious, and  enthusiastic about self discovery and emotional growth.  With girls around this just won't happen, every boy changes (acts differently) when girls are around.

Although there are different types therapeutic programs for young men, (for example: Military Boarding Schools, Therapeutic Boarding Schools, Wilderness Programs, Boot Camps, and Residential Treatment Centers) which provide common curriculum, the boy’s programs usually specialize and serve boys that display emotional and behavioral problems, and having a difficult time handling their affairs in traditional academic settings.

Programs for troubled boys are typically long term programs and have a major emphasis on character building, therapy, counseling, with the goal of raising up young men to be both physically and mentally. To be interested in having fun, being with friends, and doing dumb stuff is a natural mental/psychological state for teenage young men. Therefore, all too often boys are unable or unwilling to invest into the important parts of life, such as academics. Simply put, teenage boys tend to under emphasize academics, and over emphasize social interaction. The boys programs are very strong alternative educational setting for this reason.
