ALA Special Music Program - String Instrument Class

Abundant Life Academy can be the greatest blessing and confidence builder in a young person’s life. ALA is a fully accredited high school, accredited by Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, offering a full range of academic core courses from grades seven through twelve, as well as a high school diploma. ALA offers a self paced, rigorous, and accredited curriculum that prepares students very well for higher levels of learning. Courses offered range from fundamental to honors, to Advanced Placement in the core subject areas. Although all courses are independent study, the curriculum delivery can be either on- line or text book style.

ALA also offers a Christian based curriculum. Certified professional educators, with a heart for increased teacher involvement in the growth of the individual student, are on site and available on a one-to-one basis to guide each student through the curriculum, making the most positive learning experience possible. Most of the teachers have thirty plus years of teaching experience and say they feel they are able to make more of a difference in the lives of students here at Abundant Life Academy than at any other teaching experience they have had. This curriculum delivery approach allows more individualized and tailored education as well as much more teacher/student guidance and help with the courses tailored to the needs of the individual.

Because the student works at their own pace, a highly motivated and gifted student can accomplish more in a shorter amount of time than at a typical school. This, coupled with our grade repair program which allows students to re-take courses and repair poor grades from previous years, can not only help a student get caught up who is behind but also helps them to improve their grade point average, thus making the ALA experience truly an academic restoration process.

Abundant Life Academy also offers comprehensive guidance through a certified school councilor. The guidance councilor will do a transcript review to make sure students are in the proper courses, map out an academic plan with the student to assure graduation, help students prepare to graduate from high school or return to another high school, prepare for national testing like ACT or SAT, help students with admission to colleges and universities, and help make application for college scholarships. Because of our size it is much easier for the councilor to spend the necessary time to help each student achieve their academic goals. The councilor will also help the student prepare a professional portfolio containing items such as a resume, college and career searches, job applications, a job interview experience, personal thesis paper and more. These portfolios have been used to help students get jobs, as well as to apply for colleges and scholarships. Most of what is done by the school councilor here at ALA are things that are only briefly touched upon, if at all, at other schools.

In addition to the wonderful academic program at ALA, a comprehensive leadership program is also used. Students receive leadership instruction in personality assessment, used to help them interact more effectively with the world around them. They are taught about choice and accountability, emotional maturity, attitude, habits that make them more effective in their life and ways to improve the way they see people.

Abundant Life Academy offers a true 360 degree, holistic approach to the learning process. This allows students to improve, get back on track, and achieve the success they desire and deserve. ALA can serve as the catalyst to restore the student academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
