Community Service
At Abundant Life Academy, Community service is an integral component of the program. When students come to ALA, they are often self-focused, with little consideration for the needs of others. The community service element of our program helps students move from being self-focused to others centered. Our primary focus is to serve, by loving our neighbors in tangible ways.
The simplest charge Jesus gave us was to love Him and love others. We learn to truly love the Lord when we truly love each other through the understanding of Agape love, acceptance, forgiveness, and serving.
Community service at ALA may involve service to the school community, the local community, the national community, and, as opportunities present themselves, internationally. Every student is required to complete a minimum of 120 Community Service hours per phase, culminating in almost 400 service hours by the time a student graduates from Abundant Life Academy.
It is the goal of Abundant Life Academy that our student leaders go out into the world equipped with real leadership skills, maturity, humility and a heart to lead by example. Our community service projects give every student a place to practice these skills before he or she ventures out into the world.
“Several of the youth have participated on multiple projects, and I have witnessed their growth in leadership, self-confidence, and hopefulness for the future. I believe Abundant Life Academy is
transforming lives, and I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with your organization to improve the lives of those we have been fortunate to serve together. “
