Though the BrainCore® technology is quite complex, the training activity is simple, painless, drug-less and non-invasive. Surface electrodes are placed on the head, and brain wave activity is transmitted to computer software. Auditory and visual feedback is provided instantly, so that the client sees and hears representations of their brain in action. The client is instructed to observe the auditory and visual feedback and allow the nervous system to reset itself based on that feedback. As the nervous system reorganizes itself based on this instantaneous information, the patterns begin to normalize. Over the course of 10 to 20 training sessions, neuroplastic modifications result in the permanent alleviation of the symptoms.

Published scientific research has demonstrated neurofeedback’s efficacy in managing many neurological conditions such as ADHD, Insomnia, Anxiety and Panic Attacks.
Put simply, the various parts of the brain have to be in constant communication with each other in order for the brain to perform optimally. This communication happens through the transmitting of electrical signals along neurons, connecting one area of the brain to the other. These electrical signals are expressed as brain waves.
Using non-invasive surface electrodes that are placed on the head, the BrainCore® system is able to translate these brainwaves on to a computer screen for observation – It’s like having a window to the brain.
There are four distinct brain wave frequencies:
- Beta Waves – Produced when you are awake and engaged in active thought.
- Alpha Waves – Produced mostly when you close your eyes and relax.
- Theta Waves – Produced when you start to fall asleep.
- Delta Waves – Produced when you are sleeping.
A healthy, properly regulated nervous system will produce the “correct” brain waves at appropriate levels at the appropriate time. For example, Beta waves will be produced when the brain is focused on a task. However, in some individuals, focusing on a task produces Theta waves instead of Beta waves – you can imagine this would wreak havoc on their ability to perform the task efficiently, through no fault of their own. They would then demonstrate inattention and hyperactivity, much like we see in some cases of ADD/ADHD. This is just one example of NDS.
So, Braincore® therapy is a form of non-invasive neurofeedback that allows the nervous system to “retrain” itself to create more appropriate wave patterns and eventually break the cycle of NDS. The therapy is painless, drug-less and completely non-invasive. The visual feedback of the client’s brainwaves is shown in the form of a movie or animated game, which only plays when the client is producing the correct brainwave. The nervous system reorganizes itself based on this, and correct patterns begin to normalize. Over the course of 10-20 sessions, the brain “learns” to begin producing the appropriate waves at the appropriate times, resulting in an alleviation of the symptoms.
