Advanced SRS Parent-school Communication Systems:  There is not a single therapeutic boarding school that communicates with their parents as much as Abundant Life Academy communicates with ours, yet there are always parents that want more communication.  Therefore, we are determined to improve the ALA Student Record System by upgrading the communication between the school and home.  We are now providing the parents with the value add-on program known best as the Advanced SRS System.

Again, Abundant Life Academy is the only school with an online database where the parent can track the daily progress of their child, track their academic progress, review periodic performance updates by the directors, and/or communicate directly with any staff member through a “ticket system”.  But we intend to make it even better.  The upgrade to the SRS system involves daily “video clips”, as well as daily written “journal” notes by the student’s themselves.  The update system allows for a secure access to live video streaming, and other direct communications through video and the Internet.

The cost of the Advanced SRS system is $100 dollars per month, and the parent must supply their student with a Net Book (small laptop).  To produce video clips, upload them to the server, and to store them is a great expense. The live streaming video is also an expense that goes beyond what the school can provide.  But, if enough parents are interested in this extra communication system we can spread out the cost and provide this sensational service.

Flip Ultra Video Camera:  In order to ensure adequate and secure video clips of your child you will need to purchase a “Flip Ultra” http://www.theflip.com or http://www.bestbuy.com, The Flip video camera comes with internal software that helps you create a “my channel” to securely store and view the video files from your child.  The Flip is quick and inexpensive.  The Flip will be controlled and managed by the ALA staff and used only to garner video “diary” clips of your child in the program in the course of the day.  Moreover, the staff will take daily short V-mails and load a short Daily Progress Video to your SRS login.
