Programs for Troubled Girls
 Programs for struggling girls are growing continually. There
are different types of boarding schools and these programs used
to be only for troubled unmotivated girls. The number of schools,
programs, and camps for troubled girls seem incredible.
The problems unmotivated girls and their families face today
can be overwhelming. Parents are struggling more than ever
to keep their girl on the right path amidst social pressures,
pop culture, and the noise and distractions of the world.
In different countries, programs for unmotivated girls are
increasing. it means all those programs which were once made
solely for boys, can now be attended by girls. There is no
ban on single sex schools, but some schools and programs do
give individual support to girls.
These programs provide:
*Rapid assessment of educational and clinical needs
*Support for individual self – paced schooling
*Provision of basic supplies and shelter materials
*Psychosocial interventions at school level; training of teachers
for such schools.
In these programs a young girl and her family work together
with counselors and staff in the unique Star Steps Program.
The program enables most girls to turn their lives around
as all members of their families develop more effective ways
of relating to each other. When a girl joins the program,
her parents join also through active participation in counseling
and seminars.
There are many types of boarding schools which allow focused
attention on emotional, behavioral, and academic problems
in a safe environment for previously unmotivated girls. The
Boarding schools and residential programs which work for girls
realize true healthy growth and assist in the creation of
a positive future for each girl and her family.
There are a lot of camps and wilderness programs that are
also designed with individual girls in mind. These camps provide
a natural environment for unmotivated girls. The girls learn
honesty, accountability, responsibility, and a strong work
ethic. They gain the coping skills they need to make appropriate
choices in their life. Family involvement is crucial. All
these programs support girls through their frustration, depression
and different types of disorder. These programs give a warm-up
for fighting with unnatural conditions and painful situations.
At Abundant Life Academy the troubled girl receives a reprieve…
a time out… and soon chooses to be realigned with the
precious peace that comes as they focus on Jesus. Soon after
she returns her heart to Jesus, her eyes are opened (the scales
fall off)… these girls can hardly believe how duped
and lost they became. Many of them become grateful, appreciative,
and thankful that her parents pulled her out of the fire.
